MRS. LOU SMITH 1994

Mrs. Loueza(Lou) Caroline Edwards Smith, longtime resident of
McCrory died at 7:30 am Thursday, Sept. 29,1994 at the Woodruff
County Nursing Home in McCrory,AR. She was 92 years old and
died following a three week illness.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 pm Saturday, October 2 at
the Thompson-Wilson Funeral Chapel in McCrory with Rev. Michael
Crum, pastor of the McCrory Church of the Nazarene and Rev.
Tony Miller, pastor of the First Nazarene Church in Jacksonville
officiating. Interment was in the Woodman Cemetery in McCrory.
Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home of McCrory and Wynee were in
charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Smith was born June 28,1902 in Starkville,MS, the daughter
of the late Joseph and Mary Viola Chandler Edwards. She moved
at an early age with her parents to Woodruff County and attended
local schools. She was married March 11,1933 to Mr. John F. Smith
of Woodruff County who preceded her in death October 23, 1968.
Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and a member of the McCrory Church
of the Nazerene. She was a lifelong resident of the McCrory area
and for the past 13 years was a resident of the Woodruff County
Nursing Home. Mrs. Smith enjoyed sewing as long as health permitted.

Survivors include one daughter, Annie Lou Byers of Jacksonville;
two brothers, Floyd Edwards of Livonia,MI and Walter Edwards
of Ooltewah,TN; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
(The children mentioned here are step-children)

Pallbearers were Benny Graves, Chuck Reeves, Ellis Reeves,
Billy Dave Smith, Bobby Smith and Odie Stutts.
