NOVA OLEAN EDWARDS (STANFILL) CAPSHAW 1991

Mrs. Nova Capshaw, longtime resident of McCrory, died at
2:50am on Sat. February 23, 1991 at the Crittenden Memorial
Hospital in West Memphis where she had been a patient for one
day. She was 86 and died following an extended illness.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 pm on Monday, Feb.25, at
the Thompson-Wilson Funeral Chapel in McCrory with Rev.
Bennie Harmon, pastor of the McCrory United Methodist Church
officiating. Interment was in the Woodman Cemetery in Woodruff
County, AR. Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home of McCrory and
Wynne was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Capshaw was born Sept. 11, 1904 in Ackerman, MS the daughter
of the late Joseph M. and Olla Chandler Edwards. She moved with
her parents at an early age to Woodruff County and attended school
in the Beards Community. She was first married to Mr. George
Stanfill of Woodruff County who died in 1944 and was later married
to Mr. Oscar Capshaw who preceded her in death on April 8,1961.
Mrs. Capshaw was a homemaker and was a longtime member of the
McCrory United Methodist Church and the Elizabeth Thompson
Sunday School class. She had been a resident of Woodruff County for
over 75 yrs. and was a member of the McCrory Senior Citizens and
the Woodruff County Aging Program.

She is survived by two sons, Clarence Stanfill of Rantoul, IL and Elbert
Stanfill of ElDorado,; five daughters Mrs. Donnie Murphy of
Memphis, TN, Mrs. Evelyn Miller of Fisher, IL, Mrs. Dorthy Roepe
of Exton, PA, Mrs. Martha Chalmere of Park Forest and Mrs. Betty
Allen of Marion; three brothers, Floyd Edwards of Levonia,MI,
Walter Edwards Of Ootewah, TN, and Felix Edwards of Paragould;
three sisters Mrs. Ida Smith and Mrs. Lou Smith both of McCrory
and Mrs. Mary Hyde of Augusta; 18 grandchildren and 18 great-
grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Michael Allen, Paul Allen, Donald Chalmere, Jeffery
Chalmere, Lamont Murphy, Richard Murphy, Terry Murphy,
and Bill Roepe.
