VERNON GREEN

Vernon Green, son of the late Edgar Elias and Elizabeth Rhew Green, was born on May 29th,
1914, near Harrisburg, Ak, and passed away June 20, 2007 at the Arkansas Methodist
Hospital in Paragould Arkansas at the age of 93. He was the eighth of 10 children. As a youth
he worked the family farm while attending school at Cherry Valley and Cardwell, Mo. He was
a star athlete in baseball, basketball and track.

He married Estelle Louise Srum from Cardwell in May of 1938.They were married until her
death in 1989.In 1990 he married Gladys Carter who passed away in 1999.

During his lifetime he worked as a bus driver in the Cardwell Schools, a truck driver for
Brewer Brothers before returning to his first love of farming. He farmed until his retirement
in 1975.

Daughters left to mourn his passing are Florence Maxwell and husband Jerry, of Paragould,
JoAnn Aubel and husband Dave, Of Addieville, Il, and Kitty Kelly and husband Mike of
Huntsville, Al: a step-son, Ken Carter and wife Mae, of Paragould: five grandchildren, John
Gatling of Paragould, Phil Gatling of Jonesboro, Ak., Bryan Aubel and wife Patty of Addieville.
Kacey Kelley and wife Cindy of Huntsville and Malia Aubel Maynard and husband Garren of
Huntersville, NC: nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and other friends
and relatives.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Louise "Skeet" Green

Visitation will be from 6 pm to 9 pm today, Friday June 22 at the McDaniel Funeral Home in
Senath, Mo Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday June 23 at the McDaniel Funeral
Home & Chapel with Henry Priest officiating.

Pallbearers will be John Gatling, Phil Gatling, Braden Gatling, Kacey Kelley, Garren Maynard,
Bryan Aubel and Milia Maynard.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his memory to the Alzheimer's Association of
the Cardwell Cemetery.
